Ingredients
-
1 cup ketchup
-
1/2 cup pineapple juice (fresh or canned)
-
1/4 cup orange juice
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons molasses
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce
-
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
-
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
5 tsp. Blackbeard’s Spice - Kraken All Purpose Seasoning
Directions
Combine Ingredients:
In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, pineapple juice, orange juice, brown sugar, molasses, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
Add Spices:
Stir in the Blackbeard’s Spice - Kraken.
Simmer the Sauce:
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves and the flavors meld together.
Reduce the Sauce:
Once the sauce comes to a simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it gently bubble for about 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally, and cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
Adjust Seasoning:
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. You can add more lime juice for tang, cayenne for heat, or brown sugar for sweetness, depending on your preference.
Cool and Store:
Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool. Pour the sauce into an airtight container or jar and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to 1 week.
How to Use
Basting: Brush the sauce over grilled chicken, pork, ribs, or shrimp during the last few minutes of cooking for a glossy, flavorful glaze.
Dipping: Serve as a dipping sauce for wings, tenders, or even roasted veggies.
Sandwich Spread: Use it as a tangy spread on sandwiches or burgers for a tropical twist.
